Deep Tissue Pain Relief Massage

Deep Tissue Massage, is it for me?

If you are suffering from tension and pain, then deep tissue massage may be the solution you are looking for yourself. During a massage, the therapist exerts a stronger and more targeted pressure on the problematic area, which is not always pleasant. But it’s worth it since it provides long-term pain relief!

People who sit all day in their profession, who adopt uncomfortable postures, remain inactive, or repeat the same gestures throughout the day are the most at risk. Since their muscles are not being used correctly, while others are very stressed, the perfect environment is created in their body for trigger points to appear.

A massage therapist uses fists, fingers, forearms, elbows, and hands to release these knots. These rigid tissue bands can cause pain and inflammation while restricting movement and circulation in muscle tissue. It can include stiffness in the neck, upper back, legs, or pain in the lower back and shoulders.

Deep Tissue Massage

IS IT FOR ME?

Deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain or rehabilitation after injury. However, it can effectively treat many problems, such as whiplash, repetitive strain injuries, postural disorders, sciatica, sports injuries, recovery after a fall, muscle tension, or spasms in the gluteal or hamstring muscles and upper back.

It has also been shown to be more effective in treating osteoarthritis than many other alternatives, such as exercise therapy and physiotherapy, prescription and over-the-counter drugs, chiropractic, acupuncture, diet, and therapy. This massage is also recommended for fibromyalgia, as it often offers immediate improvement in mobility.

Its benefits go even beyond muscle and pain relief, as it also helps reduce blood pressure, heart rate, and stress hormone levels. In addition, a massage that is as beneficial for the body as it is for the mind allows you to relax and be more positive.

DOES IT HURT?

It looks so beautiful that you are probably wondering where the catch is. Is deep tissue massage painful? Is the game worth the candle? Will I be able to take it? At certain times during treatment, most people experience some discomfort. It is almost inevitable when you put intense and direct pressure on painful or injured areas. Scar tissue relaxes, muscles lengthen, knots relax, and deep muscle layers fall back into place. When treating particularly tense areas, taking a deep breath can sometimes help. It is very important to report painful areas to your massage therapist and inform when the pain becomes too severe. Then, a therapist can release the pressure or use more oil to help relax the muscles. It’s even better if you can do multiple sessions and give your body time to readjust gradually.

After this massage, you might feel some soreness, but it shouldn’t last more than a day or two. To relieve it, you can do some stretching. You can also apply ice to the painful areas. Do not hesitate to drink plenty of water, rehydrate the muscles and drain the toxins released during the treatment. Another tip: eat light before the massage and avoid physical activity afterwards.
